Emma's career goal is to become a public defender. As a first-generation American, Emma grew up seeing how important learning other languages was and unifying people as much as possible. This fueled her passion to learn Arabic and Spanish in school. She hopes to use this in her law career, so that she can help others and be a constant source of comfort during the alienating judicial process.

Victimization, the private prison system, and juvenile law. Emma conducted a research project titled "Developmental Pathways Explaining Repeat Victimization: The Influence of Delinquent Friendships." Alongside Myunghee You, she conducted a literature review to analyze victimization and how it continues later in life. This research was conducted through FSU and they concluded the research with legislature recommendations.
