Meteorology, fire weather, climate change/greenhouse gas emissions, working with data/code. Matthew worked on analyzing the EPA database for greenhouse gases and comparing these estimates with values produced by a satellite fire detection method produced by other members of Matthew's research team. This work also included producing visualizations for a research symposium with the possibility of them being published in the future. The team was led by Christopher Holmes, who works in FSU's Meteorology department, and Matthew will continue working with this team on the same project over the summer.
