Biology, math modeling, microbiology, epidemiology, and public health. Dakota conducted an analysis of the plant rhizosphere, the microbiome of the roots, in different Arabidopsis strains to determine the biological structures influencing plant immunity. She conducted this research under the supervision of Dr. David Thoms at FSU, and she enjoyed acquiring a deeper understanding of the biological mechanisms that shape the environment. She presented her research at the Undergraduate Research Symposium in the FSU student union in April.
