Mia is interested in all aspects of research; from literature to human anatomy. Mia loves all aspects of the research experience-- but above all the creativity aspect! Mia is involved in research with Jordan Lab at Florida State University. Mia began her involvement in August 2024, and is continuing her involvement through the Directed Individual Study program. Mia works with Dr. James Jordan to research transcription factors that contribute to the storage of hepatic fat cells. Dr. Jordan is investigating a transcription factor that is useful in early development, but is harmful in adulthood. The upregulation of this transcription factor has been linked to diet-induced obesity. Our research is dedicated to preventing the upregulation of said enzymes.
