Merium's research interests include art historicL research, with an emphasis on folk/indigenous craft and women's work. Through UROP, Merium worked on a research project conducted by Dr. Amber Ward in the Aft Education department along with a doctoral candidate, Hsin Fang. In their research, they explored the impact of craft pedagogies of democratic practices through collaborative research and an interactive art exhibition. Merium worked with Amber and Hsin to research art education theory and craft handmade paper for the interactive art exhibit. In July, they have/will present their research and experiences at the 38th InSEA World Congress.
